Tantra Retreat in Rishikesh

Step away from the noise and give yourself a few days of quiet in the Himalayan foothills. Our Tantra retreats in Rishikesh combine daily kriya and gentle Hatha practice, mantra, guided meditation and traditional Ayurvedic therapies beside the Ganges.

Retreats run all year and suit every level — whether you are new to yoga or have practised for years.

Introduction

A Retreat Built Around Practice, Not Performance

A Tantra retreat is not a holiday and it is not a course — it sits gently in between. At Tantra Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh you get the structure of a daily sadhana without the pressure of assessment. You wake to birdsong instead of alarms, move through kriya as the sun rises over the Ganges, and spend the rest of the day exactly as your practice asks you to.

Each day opens with pranayama and a gentle tantric kriya, followed by a sattvic breakfast prepared with seasonal, locally grown ingredients. Afternoons are yours — book an Ayurvedic therapy, sit in on a talk from the Tantras, walk to the riverside temples, or simply rest. Evenings close with mantra, meditation and kirtan under the stars.

Because groups stay small, our teachers get to know you by name and adjust the sadhana to suit you. Whether you arrive curious about Tantra, already deep in practice, or simply worn out and in need of quiet, there is room for you here.

Why Choose Us

Why Practise Tantra With Us

Rishikesh has no shortage of retreat centres. Here is what makes practising with us different.

  1. 01

    Experienced Resident Teachers

Our teachers live on campus and have taught tantric kriya, mantra and meditation for decades. You practise with the same faces every day rather than a rotating timetable of visiting instructors.

  2. 02

    Small Groups, Real Attention

Every retreat is capped at twelve guests. Your teacher learns your name, your body and where your practice sticks — and shapes the day around that instead of a fixed script.

  3. 03

    Authentic Ayurveda On Site

A resident Ayurvedic doctor and therapy rooms on campus. Your consultation decides which treatments you receive, rather than a menu of packages sold at reception.

  4. 04

    Quiet Riverside Location

We are in Tapovan, set back from the main road and a short walk from the Ganges. Close enough to reach the ghats before sunrise, far enough to actually sleep.

  5. 05

    Sattvic, Home-Cooked Meals

Three vegetarian meals a day from our own kitchen, cooked with seasonal produce from local farms. Vegan, gluten-free and allergy plates are prepared to order, not set aside.

  6. 06

    Dates That Fit Your Life

Retreats run all year and start any Sunday, from three nights to two weeks. Tell us how long you can take off and we will build the stay around it.

Accommodation & Food

Where You Stay, What You Eat

Clean, comfortable rooms with mountain views and three sattvic meals a day — so the only thing you have to think about is your practice.

Your Room

Every room looks out over the Himalayan foothills or the valley below. Rooms are cleaned daily, have an attached bathroom with hot and cold running water, and stay quiet enough to sleep deeply.

  • Private rooms with a double bed and balcony
  • Twin-share rooms for friends travelling together
  • Single rooms with wardrobe and writing desk
  • Air-conditioned options available on request
  • Fresh linen, towels and daily housekeeping
  • Free Wi-Fi, filtered drinking water and laundry service

Your Meals

Our kitchen is purely sattvic — three fresh vegetarian meals a day, cooked with seasonal produce from local farms. We serve no meat, no fish and no eggs anywhere on campus. Sattvic food is light, easy to digest and traditionally considered the diet that best supports a steady yoga practice.

Tell us before you arrive if you are vegan, gluten-free or have any allergies — our cook will adjust your plate, not your experience.

  • Breakfast — seasonal fruit, porridge, poha or upma with herbal tea
  • Lunch — the main meal: dal, sabzi, rice, roti and salad
  • Dinner — a lighter supper served early for better sleep
  • Pure vegetarian — strictly no meat, fish or eggs
  • Ayurvedic herbal teas available through the day
  • Vegan, gluten-free and allergy-friendly options
FAQs

Questions Guests Ask Us Most

Still unsure about something? Write to us and a real person will answer — usually the same day.

Not at all. Most of our retreat guests are complete beginners or return after long breaks. Classes are taught in small groups, so your teacher can offer easier or deeper variations of every posture. If you have practised for years, tell us on arrival and we will keep you challenged.
